Hopefully one day Americans will follow the Canadian way and make them smoke-free venues. There are signs in the lobby that indicate that renovations are/will be taking place but we did not see much activity in this regard! The casino is fine but quite smokey. Not sure what the cost is however you do get discounts if you stay at the hotel and/or have a players card. There is a large pool area that includes four water slides (not all are open daily), a lazy river for rafting as well as many other water attractions. I selected what I thought was chicken but it was a tasteless piece of battered fish. The attendants were very lackadaisical and service was poor (no tip was given). The buffet restaurant (you can also place an order) had mediocre tasting food and no desserts. There is a Keurig coffee maker and good strong coffee pods. The room was pretty sound-proof though and relatively clean. The furniture however is rustic, the carpeting worn, the patio door would not lock, the sinks (one outside the bathroom which is nice) are old, mirrors are in need of replacement, there is no safe or ironing board, the wall a/c and heater makes a lot of noise. The room was indeed spacious and did have a gas fireplace. This was our first over-night stay and we were booked in one of the many balcony suites at a very reasonable price. Between the four of them they had a box of 12 cans that they did not even finish and if they had know they definitely would not have had the coolers in their room. These girls are not big drinkers or had a big party. Persons caught with alcohol may be asked to leave and/or may be excluded from the property dependent upon management decision." It does not state anything about a $250.00 dollar fine.

All they state about alcohol on their website is "We are an alcohol free establishment. After speaking with management they have just waived us off stating she signed the three page sign in sheet that states a $250.00 charge. I am all about setting rules but the rules have to be clearly stated before the fact. One week later Seven Clans has charged $250.00 to the credit card without notifying her for having alcohol in the room. The rooms were clean and they enjoyed their weekend. They had their luggage and a 12 pack of Mike's hard drinks that were completely visible but no one commented on them at check in. As I stated earlier they had already been waiting for 20 minutes and did not want to make anyone wait longer.
They were given the "usual" couple of page normal check in paperwork that they signed without thoroughly reading it word for word. At check in time there was a twenty minute wait for checking in. My daughter and her friends were at Seven Clans Thief River in the beginning of August. Between the four of them they had a box of 12 cans that they did not.
